Dear brothers,
Have you ever listened to Christ words but did not act upon it. Or you have heard Christ words and put it into practice. In Luke 6:48-49 it says 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Once upon a time (I love telling stories) there was a couple who were wealthy. They lived in New York City, on the edge of town. The husband was a lawyer and was well-known and his wife was a travel agency she was also well-known around the city. The wife got pregnant and both her and her husband were delighted. There house was vast and full of luxuries. They had everything, I mean everything a person can ever imagine. They had the new 2008 Mercedes car. They had maids and butlers to their house work. They had a beautiful garden. Stylish clothes that made there neighbors self-conscious. The only thing missing? God. The husband (lets name him Bob) Bob had heard about God and thought about converting to a Christian but he ignored it later in life. His wife Jill also had heard about God and how Jesus died for her sins but like her husband she ignored it.
On the other side of New York, there was a couple who were poverty-stricken. They were the opposite’s to Bob and Jill. The husband’s job was washing dishes in a restaurant. His wife was a waiter. Both always received low minimum wage. There names were Fran and Rob. Fran like Jill was pregnant and that was a major issue. Fran and Rob rent a house with cockroaches and worry about the health that the baby is going to live in. But they did not worry that much. Why? Because they had God. They were devoted Christians that loved God with all there heart. They also looked up to God when they were in situations of crisis or they were in a happy state. Fran and Bob did not panic when they went to bed hungry or when the roaches bit them. They knew God was with them.
Bob and Jill were living the life when suddenly Jill had a miscarriage. Jill was sad and depressed all the times and Bob was always angry and frustrated. Bob became so hot-tempered when Jill used to cry for no reason what so ever. Bob started to hit her and verbally abuse Jill. Jill lost her job and Bob started to stop going to present people. Pretty soon Bob quit. Money was tight and they started to sell there furniture. The car was sold because the insurance was rising on it. The maid and butler left and Bob and Jill moved to a apartment. Finally Jill found her voice and called cops. Bob was arrested and is serving time in jail for assault. Jill filed for divorce and moved in with her folks. Bob and Jill both died young and without God.
On the other side of New York Rob started looking for work and found it. He worked in a car factory. He made a lot of money and Fran found work as a personal support worker. They both bought a affordable house and a used car. Fran had her baby in a clean environment. Both praised the Lord for giving them these precious child and a new start in life. Fran and Rob both lived long and with God at there side.
The lesson of these two stories? Always stick to God because he gives and he can take. When you base your house or your life on God he will always take care of you and never let anything bad happen. But if you do the opposite and don’t let God inside your life or based on your house God your life will surely going to come down.
The party is over my brothers this is life. Do you want to stay forever in hell or live in eternity in Heaven? Heaven is the place for relaxation, no tears, no worries, dining with God, praising Him, talking to Him face-to-face, etc. To get there put God in your life and be like Rob and Fran. They had nothing in the beginning but God at the end they were blessed for basing there lives all around God. Praise the Lord. So who will you choose to live your life based on God or your live based without God? Choose.
Until next time my brothers Alex- otherwise known as Alexandra
